Racism is NOT the problem!!!!! It's you.

Lets get this out of the way first

Do I think there is racism in America? Yes

Is the "man" holding you down? Probably not.

This has been the truth for a long time now, and is even more prominent after the election of America's 1st "black" president. As a young black male I have come to one sad conclusion about us as a group...... We Bitch A Lot. About many things. Today I'll only deal with the top of the BS list; racism is responsible for your lack of personal success in life. We talk of closed doors and glass ceilings. But this thing about glass ceiling's is that if you never attempt to clime the ladder you will never hit your head. How you know the door is locked if you never tired to open it?

Sure it may be harder, but harder is not the same as impossible. "Life's a bitch and then you die", and since you only have one you have to make the most of it.. (If you know the rest the lyrics to the quote above please disregard them)

Many black "men" lay down stagnant in self pity blaming others for their lack of effort.

If you are too young to remember Martin Luther King and Malcolm X alive from your own memories, chances are it's only your own personal deficits holding you back. Pick up a book (read it), apply yourself, and see if you don't get further than you have living in your parent's basement/girlfriend's apartment. Worst yet, moving back and forth between the two.

P.S. - If you are not black, but are over the age of 22, still live off of your parents and/or girlfriend.  then replace the word "racism" with whatever lie you to tell yourself . But in the end the same fundamental idea ; Stop making excuses and "man up".
